League Questions:

 

Q: How do I get in touch with LCB to ask questions?

A: If you haven't been able to find the answer to your question on our website please email info@lowescreekbaseball.com and we will get back to you. 

Q: Where is Lowes Creek Baseball located? 

A: LCB is a hidden gem in Eau Claire nestled behind a wall of trees at 4450 Horlacher Court

Q: What age groups can participate at Lowes Creek?

A: LCB Offers baseball opportunities to youth players age 4-12 years old. See Age Chart for more details. Age is based on the player's age on April 30 of the current season. 

Q: When does the season start?

A: The start of the season can vary and is completely dependent on mother nature. On average we can typically see game play start the last week of April.

Q: How long is the season?

A: Our Spring Seasons runs from late April to late June, typically we aim for the last week of April to start the season. There will be no games played on Memorial Day. The start of the season is of course dependent on Wisconsin weather :) 

Q: Are there playoffs at the end of the season?

A: Rookies, Minors, and Majors will all participate in the playoffs at the end of the season. All teams make the playoffs regardless of their record or standings. T-ball will not have any playoff, however at a date to be determined their will be a celebration night for the T-ball division.

Q: What equipment is provided by the league?

A: LCB provides each player with a team jersey and hat. Game Balls are provide at the start of the game. Each team will also have an assigned catchers gear bag(Not Tball). Players will need to provide their own glove, baseball helmet, baseball shoes(cleats), gray baseball pants, and socks. 

Q: Does Lowes Creek offer a Travel Baseball option?

A: Yes, Lowes Creek Baseball and American Baseball have teamed up to form Eau Claire Baseball. ECB is our travel baseball program. All players who register with LCB or American Baseball are eligible to tryout for Eau Claire Baseball. For more information check out the ECB page.

Q: Do I have to work the concession stand?

A: Lowes Creek Baseball is 100% ran and operated by volunteers. Support from the LCB community (especially parents) is key to our operations and providing a great experience for our youth to enjoy baseball. We ask all parents work 2 shifts per player(1 shift per tball player) registered. There is an opt-out fee if one wishes to not work the shifts. 

Q: Is Lowes Creek Chartered?

A: Yes, Lowes Creek Baseball is Chartered with Cal Ripken Baseball, a Division of the Babe Ruth League. Click here for more information. 

Q: Does LCB do any fundraising activities?

A: LCB hosted an annual Golf Fundraiser in August at Hickory Hills. This is Lowes Creek's main fundraiser throughout the year. 

Q: Should my child play other sports?

A: Absolutely and LCB encourages multi-sport athletes if they choose. Multiple sports helps develop great athletes and helps reduce injuries.  

Q: What if I have a complaint/issue about a coach, player, parent and/or umpire?

A: Lowes Creek takes any complaint/issue serious and ask for it to be reported. For most complaints think about applying the 24 hour rule. Please don't confront a player, coach, parent or umpire during or directly after the incident. Please contact the board at info@lowescreekbaseball.com

Q: Are pets allowed at the Lowes Creek Complex? (Dogs,Cats, etc.)

A: We ask that when possible to please refrain from bringing pets to the complex. Outside of being a distraction to game play, people can be allergic, fearful, or unprepared for a pet encounter. This also helps ensure with keeping animal waste away from the fields. 

 

Registration Questions:

 

Q: Where do we register?

A: Click on the "Register" button that is on our home page or our registration page This will walk you through the registration process while the registration is open. Registration opens January 1st and runs through March 31st. 

Q: What is included in the registration fee?

A: Registration fees for Lowes Creek Baseball help cover the cost of: players uniforms(hat & jersey), team equipment(balls, bat, catcher's gear, etc.), umpires (Rookies, Minors, & Majors divisions), field maintenance, complex maintenance, complex operational costs, end-of-season trophies, and other expenses. 

Q: Who needs to attend Player Evaluations?

A: All players registered to play in Rookies, Minors, and Major need to attend evaluations. Click here for more information on Evals.

 

Team/Equipment Questions:

Q: How many players are on a team?

A: LCB aims to have teams of 10-12 players but numbers can vary slightly depending on coach availabilities and registered players. 

Q: Who can coach?

A: All coaches at Lowes Creek Baseball volunteer their time to help guide the love and development of baseball to our players. We are always looking for volunteers to take on the coaching role. All coaches must go through a background check. If interest please reach email our Coaching Coordinator

Q: Can my player be on a team with their friend/sibling?

A: After Spring Evaluations, teams are divided based on skill level. We do accept placement requests, but we do not guarantee they will be honored. Above the T-Ball level, our main priority and commitment to our players is ensuring teams are as equal in skill level as possible. 

Q: What equipment will I need for my player?

A: Player's uniform (hat & team jersey) is provided by the league and the cost is included in your registration fee. At a minimum, your player should have a batting helmet and fielding glove for their catching hand. A bat, sized to your player, and baseball cleats are highly recommended. Batting gloves and other equipment are optional. See our Equipment page for additional information. 

Q: What are the Bat Rules?

A: ALL bats MUST have the USA Baseball logo on them to be legal. If it has the logo on it, it is legal; if not, it is illegal. For more information on the USA bat standard and a complete list of bats approved through USA, visit usabat.com

Q: How do we get our uniforms?

A: Coaches will distribute uniforms to the teams once obtained from the league.

Q: Will pictures be taken for each team?

A: Yes, Lowes Creek Baseball works with a 3rd party vendor to provide the opportunity for the players to have their pictures taken both individually and with their team. These pay be purchased through the vendor. 

Q: How much are coaches paid?

A: All of our baseball coaches are volunteers.

 

Game & PRACTICE Questions:

 

Q: When will there be practice?

A: Practice schedules will be set per team by the coaches. We highly encourage our coaches to host multiple practices prior to the season starting and throughout the season as time/field availability permits.

Q: When will game schedules be published?

A: The season's game schedule will be published and distributed shortly have teams have been formed. 

Q: Will my child get playing time? 

A: Yes, no Player may sit out more than two (2) consecutive innings and must play at least two (2) defensive innings including at least three consecutive defensive outs in an infield position unless a game is shortened for any reason.

 

Weather Questions:

 

Q: How will we know if a game is cancelled/postponed due to weather?

A: If games are cancelled or postponed for any reason coaches with be notified and are asked to relay messages to their teams. We will also post updates on our Website and Facebook page. Please follow if not already doing so. 

Q: When will cancelled/postponed games be rescheduled?

A: Make up games will be done on a case-by-case bases.

Q: Why was our game cancelled when it isn't currently raining?

A: Lowes Creek will make every attempt to play games as scheduled, players safety however is our first priority. Mother nature at times will force cancellations. Games can be called due to severe weather such as heavy rain, lightning, extreme cold, etc. Games can also be cancelled due to unsafe field conditions or game play could cause severe damage to the fields.
